Jamil Francisco Karwash was born in 1978 in San Francisco. He is fluent in Spanish, having been raised in the East Bay in a hard working family from Nicaragua. Wash, as he is affectionately known, graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 2001, majoring in Legal Studies. He attended law school at Seton Hall University in New Jersey, graduating in 2005. During college, Wash worked for the Own Recognizance Project in Berkeley, helping release people from jail. During law school, Wash worked for the Legal Aid Society of New York, helping youth from the Bronx. He is committed to protecting people charged with crimes. Known to all as a very considerate and concerned attorney with a great sense of humor, he is one of the most positive people you will ever meet. When teased about his name, he responds, At least you will never forget it. And you never forget the good work and outstanding results he achieves in helping people in trouble.
